Reuse Depot Support

Keep usable items out of the landfill. Change the culture of reuse by encouraging people everywhere to do more with what they already have at Concordia in the CUCCR Depot, located on the SGW campus at 1200 Rue Guy . Don’t buy that! Please commit to at least 3 time slots.   

Main responsibilities:

• help the team sort and display new items,  
• chat with community members entering the space to help them find what they need and get connected to the sustainability community, weigh items as guests check out, and  
• research creative ways to reuse or maintain everyday items to share with peers in person and virtually. 
• By the end of the year, you will have created at least 2 educational posts for CUCCR’s social media, have created strong connections with regular visitors, and helped organize and facilitate a Don’t Buy That event!  

Ability to adapt to new scenarios and talk with people you have never met before. Try to see the potential in materials and do your best to make the space as welcoming as possible both physically clean and safe, as well as friendly and informative.   

 

You will enjoy volunteering here if you like talking to people, getting to learn about what people are making and doing with reused materials, or if you like to make things in your own time. This is a great opportunity to get creative with abandoned materials and show your peers how to reuse them, through small workshops or videos on the CUCCR Instagram.
